Dear valued customers,
Over the last 10 years I have worked tirelessly to provide the highest quality
of research, teaching, and service. Over the last 8 years I have helped
find solutions to many unsolved problems concerning brown recluse spiders
and many other common pest species. I have helped researchers and doctors
develop research protocols and clear medical symptomology. I have helped
lawyers and litigants prove their cases. I have helped companies across
the US develop treatment procedures for brown recluse spiders and many other
persistent pests. I have also helped countless homeowners and property owners
solve their pest management issues.
I began researching brown recluse spiders because
there was a great need in the public for information. I entered the field
of pest management to help those suffering from severe brown recluse spider
infestations and to prove that brown recluse spider control is not only a
possibility but also an attainable goal. I continued in the field to
educate others and develop an understanding of brown recluse spider control
that could be applied by others. I have met every goal that I set out
to accomplish and many more along the way as I continued my quest for knowledge.
For the last 12 years I have also suffered from severe and sometimes debilitating
back pain. In the pursuit of my dreams I have always put the interests
and needs of others ahead of my own, and have paid a painful price for this
decision. The major factors contributing to my condition have always
been tension, anxiety and stress, in addition to climbing through attics
and crawlspaces, carrying heavy sprayers, and spending long hours driving.
In my quest to no longer live a life of pain, I made the decision to remove
the major source of my problems, owning a business. With my recent
publication “Brown Recluse Spiders: A Knowledge Based Guide to Control and
Elimination” I have given away the secrets that contributed to my success
in pest management and specifically to the successful control of brown recluse
spiders. My mission is now complete, my interests have shifted, and it is
time to start a new chapter in my life.
I have enjoyed my time as owner of a pest management firm. I have always
taken pride in the work that I performed and the lives that I may have touched
in the process. I regret that I will not be there to see your children
grown, to see your families grown, and to see you grow throughout the years.
I will always hold on to the little things that kept me in this business
for so many years; the two year olds that learned to say my name perfectly
for the first time and the adults who never could get it quite right, the
dogs who learned a new trick each time I appeared, the children who followed
me around with their flashlights as WE investigated the problem, the many
pianos I have played and songs I have sang for many of you, the babies that
I have seen come into the world and watched grow, and the many, many smiles
and laughs I have seen and heard on my way out the door. I will greatly
miss you all.
When I made the decision to leave the business I also began the search for
my replacement. BRS Pest Control and Consulting was not sold to the
highest bidder, nor was it ever advertised for sale. I knew of the
perfect person to continue the excellence of service and high standards of
quality that I have set and approached him and him only about the purchase
of BRS Pest Control. The business has been sold to Tim Dinneen of Sunflower
Pest Solutions, INC. Many of you have already met Tim as I have referred
him many times over the years to handle many wildlife and pest management
issues that were beyond my skills, equipment or expertise. I have know
and worked with Tim for years and know that he has the skills, ethics, and
desire that it takes to continue what I have begun. He has proven to
he honest, reliable, and dependable to me over the years and will prove the
same to you. After publishing my book, Tim was the first to make a
purchase, read and ask questions. After I began selling the invention
that you all have seen me use in your homes (The DustROD) Tim was the first
to make a purchase. Over the years we have shared many conversations
about brown recluse spiders, wildlife and many other pests. We have
often shared our thoughts and I have shared my secrets. Because of
these many encounters, meetings and conversations, Tim was the only replacement
that I considered. Every doctor has another doctor that they see when
they themselves have a problem. Tim has been the equivalent of my doctor
and my friend and now is the second most educated person on brown recluse
spider management in the area.
My employee Dr. Jason Emry, who took over the care of my Lawrence clients,
will continue to work for Tim Dinnen and Sunflower Pest Solutions, Inc.
I will also stay on for a short period in the role of technical director.
I may show up at many of your homes in the spring to show Tim and his employees
many of my secrets and how they are implemented in different type of homes
and under varying circumstances. I look forward to the transition of
leadership and to seeing many of you one last time as I begin my new chapter.
Where will I go? What will I do? The immediate answer to this one is
still a mystery. For the time being I will continue to publish and
sell my book “Brown Recluse Spiders: A Knowledge Based Guide to Control and
Elimination” and manufacture and sell my invention “The BRS Dust R.O.D”.
I am planning to travel to speaking engagements, book selling and signing
tours, and Dust R.O.D. sales promotions. I eventually hope to land
as a technical expert for a government or private agency where I can once
again conduct research and help people solve problems.
